Cool pic! First elk I ever saw was @ Yellowstone Park~also traveling up the river. Good place for them vs. in the road, lol! They are huge!

The reintroduction of the elk population to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park began in 2001 and 2002 with 52 elk. It is not uncommon to see elk on the Cherokee Indian Reservation! Learn more:
