So far every NW senior (9 out of 9) I have spoken with needs have had their schedule adjusted b/c they either got courses they don't need, didn't sign up for (even as alternatives),
is overloaded by too many sprind AP classes.  I know this is typical but it's still frustrating that is never gets any b...

We are always told when there are any complaints about the calendar that the Teacher Advisory Board makes up the calendar.  Obviously the teachers who sit on that board don't see a problem with
putting the break at Easter instead of the halfway point.

Teachers do speak up about this all the time! 

So the AP population is small and not that many folks are effected.  But everyone is effected by the placement of the break 16 weeks after returning from "winter" break.  Then we come back for 6 weeks of school (not really b/c the last week is exams and a lot of time at the end of schoo...

I talked to some of the district tech folks Monday - last year, out of the 750 new laptops at JM, there were 146 damage claims, almost 20%. In the other high schools with older laptops, there were 199 damage claims out of about 1450, or about 14%. For damaged computer, the student/parent has to pay $5...
